Linda Diane Worthy
Linda Diane Worthy was à well known Washington state-wide “personality” as founder and co-director of Worthy Music Ministries in the 1990s and beyond. Thousands of artists, bands, and choirs/ensembles came through Worthy Music Ministries through one or more of their 1st through the 18th annual Washington State Christian Talent Contests.
In her day job, she was a highly sought out senior software and application developer who was on most local recruiters’ first-to-call list for someone with her skill set. Among Linda’s clients were Boeing, Microsoft, Department of the Army for a nationwide wounded warrior project, Department of Portland government (who oversaw six Oregon counties), Frank Russell, Weyerhaeuser, the Tacoma Events Commission, and far too many more to count.
Most kept calling her back for subsequent projects. She was brought in to fix the impossible, and because she was raised to think outside the box, she was very successful in all her technical contracts and application development projects.
Linda also proudly served her country for seven years active duty in the US Navy as a Vietnam Era vet. She received multiple awards for her many achievements, as well as for her many years in Civil Service before entering the private sector.
Raised to achieve whatever she put her hand to, she did not disappoint. She greatly desired to achieve her very best for her parents who had made so many sacrifices and given her such great encouragement: Earl Benson Jr (1932-2018) and Beverly Benson (1936-2020)
Until her failed sinus surgery in 2011, Linda was a force to be reckoned with as she was unstoppable in her work and accomplishments from being a small child to a 54 year old woman.
God used this opportunity to show Linda she was more than her achievements and that her focus must be on giving God the glory, no matter what the circumstances.
